Experience
2018-present
Assistant Professor of Experience Architecture, Michigan State University Experience Architecture
From 2018-2022, I taught as a full-time professor at MSU, where I designed learner-centered curriculum and facilitated online and in-person Experience Architecture and writing courses. I am excited to be back in the class room as a part-time professor, engaging in user research and design with community clients and students to practice UXR methodologies to create solutions. It is a a true joy to return to collaborating with educators and other stakeholders to provide high-quality and inclusive learning experiences.
2023-2024
Lead UX Researcher and Writer, Taproot Law
Taproot Law, a legal start-up, is building accessible and affordable products from the ground up. As a lead researcher and writer, I spearheaded UX Research (UXR) strategy to develop a deeper understanding and meet the legal needs of community members in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
2022-2023
Design and Facilitation Project Manager, University of Michigan Center for Socially Engaged Design
As a project manager, I facilitated multi-phased projects to support research-focused collaboration in the College of Engineering (CoE). This work required in-depth research to understand faculty needs and create innovative solutions for faculty and students. I had so much fun collaborating across the CoE to turn ideas into real-world solutions.
2016-2018
UX Researcher and Writer, University of Michigan Center for Academic Innovation
I will forever be grateful that I found myself at the Center for Academic Innovation where my team developed ECoach, an online learning tool that is now used by millions, from the ground up. For this effort, I wrote and delivered relevant, research-based content and led and facilitated interdisciplinary research projects with staff and faculty that incorporated approaches in UX.
